Trade Winds Quilt - Block of the Month

Sail out into the great unknown with this Trade Winds Quilt by Sue Spargo!

Sue has filled her journal with folktales and drawings inspired by the ocean on her many travels across the globe. 

These ocean inspired creations came to fruition in the spectacular Trade Winds Quilt. Trade Winds is not only a vehicle for creativity and craft but an opportunity to dive deeper.

Come and uncover the wonders of the ocean’s flora and fauna!

This is a 12-month project where you will receive a block/kit/package every month.

Please note that this Block-of-the-Month starts in January 2025 but as kits will be limited, you can join now to avoid disappointment!!

Finished size is approximately 88cm x 103cm (34.5" x 40.5")

Each Trade Winds Block-of-the-Month package will include:

  • Hand dyed wools for backgrounds and applique (Sue Spargo Felted Merino Wool range)

  • Special wool border fabric (from Sue Spargo, same as pictured above)

  • Cotton fabrics for applique (cotton fabrics may vary but we will match the colours accordingly)

  • Velvet fabric for applique

  • Ric racs

Not included:

  • Trade Winds book - sold separately (see below "Optional Extras") - you WILL need this book to make your quilt

  • Embroidery stitch instruction (Creative Stitching book is ideal) - sold separately (see below "Optional Extras")

  • Threads - thread kits as well as thread bobbins available and sold separately (see below "Optional Extras")

  • Applique/embellishment threads, beads, label and batting
